My client are seeking a Junior Java/JEE developer (min 1-2 yrs experience) for a permanent position in Central London. The successful candidate will be working on a public facing web-site that represents a new paradigm in scientific literature publication. You will work in a team of highly skilled passionate developers, it is a superb chance to learn new technologies and receive mentoring from experienced programmers.
The successful candidate will be expected to have:
* Experience in Java based web development (preferably with a web framework of some sort).
* Excellent face to face communication skills.
* A university degree, preferably in a numeric based field (e.g. Computer Science, Math, Physics).
The candidate will ideally be familiar with:
* An ORM technology (e.g. Hibernate) as well as Stored Procedure (SQL) development.
* Agile Methodologies (e.g. Pair Programming, Standups, Test Driven Development).
* A RDBMS (e.g Oracle).
The candidate should at least have an interest in:
* Spring (MVC, I/O)
* Templating Engines (e.g. Velocity).
* Build Tools (e.g. Maven), Source Control (e.g. SVN) and Web Application servers (e.g. Tomcat).
