Our client is poised for substantial growth over the next few years and requires an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to head-up a coal exploration program in this fast developing region of Africa.
The Role
Based in an African country, the incumbent will be leading a small team of geologists and field technicians to drive exploration on existing projects, as well as identifying and evaluating further exploration targets.
Requirements:
o degree qualified geologist with unchallenged experience in developing and implementing coking coal exploration programs, as well as previous supervisory, project management and budgeting experience.
o excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
o familiar with design and project management of various geological issues – including mapping, resource estimation, software modelling as well as data interpretation and consulting on drilling options.
o solid expertise in integrated geological studies, prospect generation & analysis AND will utilize geological and/or geophysical software to produce cross sections, maps and regional geological studies.
o Experienced in conducting prospect reviews through independent analysis.
o Portuguese speaking ability will be advantageous, but not essential.
